The Economic Development Corporation is a stand-alone entity under Fort McMurray 468 First Nation (FMFN468).
Launched in April 2022, our team leads business development opportunities for both the Nation and Fort McMurray First Nation Group of Companies, including nurturing partnerships and industry relationships.

Aligned with the Nation’s Eight Community Pillars, we contribute to the economic success of the Nation through the development of joint business ventures and equity opportunities, supported by strong strategic partnerships.
All revenue generated through the Corporation supports Member programs and services, housing initiatives, and infrastructure projects, which all contribute to lasting benefits for the Nation and its Members for generations to come.

Building on Success
Fort McMurray 468 First Nation (FMFN468) Economic Development is an evolution of the momentum and growth created by the Fort McMurray First Nation Group of Companies (FMFN Group).
Since 1987, FMFN Group has contributed to the financial stability and prosperity of the Nation, providing construction, custodial, transportation, and Petro-Canada fuel and convenience store services to a broad portfolio of customers. Their success in establishing strong partnerships across a wide range of sectors has created meaningful employment opportunities for Nation Members and expanded service lines within the Group of Companies.
Working together with the Nation’s economic development team, the Group of Companies will continue to focus on growing its existing services and partnerships.
